A metal mug for sublimation is a blank with a metal body and a white or coloured polymer coating that accepts a heat-transferred image. It does not shatter, it is light and survives drops, which is why buyers choose it for camping, fishing, the car or the garden. Printing works the same way as on ceramic mugs: the design is printed in mirror image with sublimation ink on paper and then transferred in a heat press at roughly 180–200 °C.
