Textiles for sublimation: what they are and how they work

Textiles for sublimation are fabric items onto which an image can be transferred by the sublimation method. Ink moves from the paper into the fibres under heat and pressure, so the print has no feel on the surface, does not crack and survives washing. One rule matters: sublimation works on polyester. The higher the polyester content and the lighter the fabric, the brighter the result. Cotton items are not suitable for sublimation; they are printed with DTF or heat-transfer methods instead. That is why this section contains both dedicated sublimation blanks and basic cotton T-shirts for other technologies.

How to choose textiles for printing

Start with the technology. If you have a sublimation printer, look for items made of polymer fabrics and check the composition in the product card. If you work with DTF, cotton suits both T-shirts and hoodies. Then think about batch size: T-shirts and pouches are convenient in bulk, while pillows and backpacks are better ordered for specific jobs. For children choose double-layer T-shirts: they are listed by height, so it is harder to get the size wrong.

To transfer the image you need a heat press and sublimation paper. You can order them from us together with the textiles, so you do not have to assemble a kit in several places.
