Aluminium business cards for sublimation are thin aluminium plates, about 0.22 mm thick, with a special coating onto which text and a logo are applied by heat transfer. Unlike paper cards, they look prestigious, do not crease, fade or rub off, because the image is absorbed into the coating rather than sitting on top. Aluminium cards are typically ordered for executives, lawyers, designers, beauty salons, restaurants and anyone who wants to leave a lasting impression.

How to choose aluminium business cards

• Colour and finish. Gold pearl, gold glossy, silver glossy, silver pearl and white pearl. Pearl gives a soft shimmering sheen, while glossy gives a mirror-like one.
• Size. Most often 86x54 mm or 84x54 mm; there is also an 80x46 mm version with rounded corners (10 mm radius).
• Pattern. Side ornament, openwork, Roman or Chinese ornament, wavy edging and a ribbed-edge model. Plain rectangular cards are available too.

For printing you need a printer with sublimation ink, sublimation paper, heat-resistant tape and a heat press. The layout is printed as a mirror image. A typical setting for these cards is about 190 °C for roughly 60 seconds, but before a big run, press a single test card and adjust the time if needed. Avoid light text on a gold or silver background: sublimation ink is transparent, so dark lettering reads best.

One of the main advantages is flexibility: the layout changes in minutes, and you can make even a single card for a specific customer, with no moulds or minimum runs. Pearl versions look restrained and elegant, while glossy ones catch the eye at once.

The blanks are bought by print shops and souvenir studios that offer VIP cards to their customers, and by private makers who take small-batch orders. Besides business cards, this aluminium is used for name plates, gift tags and labels.
