Metal for sublimation means aluminium sheets with a thin polymer coating on one side that accepts a heat-transferred image. The reverse side remains bare metal. After heating in a press, the dye penetrates the coating and becomes part of the surface: the design does not rub off, does not fade in light and withstands moisture. That is why sublimation aluminium is used for signs, nameplates, key tags, certificates, award plaques and promotional items.

Formats, thickness and coating types

• A4 sublimation metal (20×30 cm), 0.45 mm thick — from 49.02 UAH;
• 60×30 cm sheet, 0.45 mm thick — from 146.65 UAH;
• white sheet 600×400 mm, 1 mm thick — 479.99 UAH, chosen when a stiffer blank is needed.

There is a wide choice of surface finish: gloss, matte, pearl, brushed-texture and mirror. Colours are gold, silver and white. Gloss and mirror metal give a vivid picture, matte looks restrained, pearl gives a soft glow and the textured finish adds a distinctive feel. Price depends on the finish: a 60×30 cm sheet in gloss, matte or pearl costs 146.65 UAH, in the textured finish 165.85 UAH and in mirror 185.87 UAH.

How to choose and work with the metal

For business cards, badges and small nameplates A4 is the convenient choice: it cuts easily and leaves almost no waste. Large 60×30 cm sheets are economical if you make many plates, since they can be cut to size. The catalogue includes tools for working with metal, so a cutter or other equipment can be ordered along with the sheets. For printing you need a printer with sublimation ink, sublimation paper and a flat heat press; the transfer temperature is usually around 180–200 °C. Make a test print on a small piece first.
