Teflon sheet 48*68

A Teflon sheet is a sheet of a special material that is placed between the applique lying on the heat press table and its heating element. It turned out that it is important to know not only why it is needed, but also some nuances of working with it

In appearance a Teflon sheet is a light-brown flexible rectangular piece of material. Its properties are such that it is very easy to clean of almost any materials associated with heat-transfer application of an image onto fabric and metal. Why is it needed, and why put it between the applique and the heating element of the table?

First, the Teflon sheet protects the fabric onto which the applique is transferred from any dirt that may be on the heating element. Such dirt can be pieces of film from earlier heat transfers, residue of thermal adhesive (if it happened that an employee placed the applique with the heat-transfer film upside down by mistake), residue of masterton toner, and anything else. Of course, if the heating platen of your heat press is dirty, it is best to clean it, but if you have not done so, the Teflon sheet comes to your aid. The Teflon sheet thus helps not only to prevent contamination of the fabric but also contamination of the heating element.

Second, the Teflon sheet helps protect the heating element from contact with zippers, buttons and any other objects on the garment being printed.

And there is one nuance to remember when working with a Teflon sheet — it absorbs heat. Slightly, but it does. Therefore when using it, especially for sublimation heat transfer, you should set the press temperature 1-2 degrees higher than usual.
